I WORK HARD EVERYDAY........!
Well my name is Hanief K Sadiq and i am a SELECTA,MC,DANCER and i am about to be involved in SINGING wow!!!
It all started back den in 1989 at the age of 6 when i was little yute growing in the streets of Harare.I had interest in music not just reggae but all that i could sing and dance to.Had inspiration and support from my 1st grade class including my teacher Mrs Dzikiti.My family believed in me and trust one day i will be at the position i am on now GOD BLESS.
I hit my first stage show when was at the age of 8 in 1991 well not as an artist but a dancer i was well know for brake dancing and all sorts of dances back then anything with music i danced to.
I got involved with reggae in the same year as i listened to radio 3fm with DJs like Munya Brown,Otis Fraser,Dennis Wilson to name a few.The first record i got was ALL SHE WROTE outa Chaka D & Pliers and was one of the hit those days as well as Shabba Ranks tunes early dancehall days.
Thus when artist like Tiger,Little Criss,Little Vicious
,Michigan & Smiley,Peter Metro,Papa Son and more rocked radio madd!
In 1994 i got involved with crews like (BACKYARD RUFF)with (ABEL,DICKSON,JAMES,t-GUNZ)and also sounds like Black Scorpion & Jamrock int.Used to go buss in local clubs in Warren Park,Kambuzuma and Kuwadzana well dats when i had my first experience in dancehall music.Taps Gunz and i compose our first tune then it was mental trust me the hole neighbourhood would complain when we start buss the drums at night in my backyard doing our tunes.
My first stage show in-front of unknown audience was when i turned 12(1995) i performed my first tune at a talent show at (Mablereign girls high school)it was hardcore truss me and the tune we did a combination Gunz & I pon a tune called Zimbabwean Gals Dem it was crazy we won the best talented in the competition that's when i knew i got potential innit.
I can still remember the first time i step in the real dancehall world that was at a club called (AGONY CENTRE aka rumours)Was introduced to the club by a lady waitress who worked in the club and lived at our house that was in 1996.That was also the first day i talked to JAH B and the STEREO ONE CREW including Jnr selecta SHAGGY X and manager JOAH.It was a big adventure as i was the small guy in the club had to rush out quick as the GO GO GIRLS took stage XRATED MMM!
1997 Was the year i stated the DJYIN bizz that was at a local club(MUTOMBA) was going by the name SHOCKING VIBES CREW with big bro Ragga Rus,Getto Yute,Terror Sparks,Daddy Ernie and at that session was Madd House,Delta Force and New Generation.We tore down the place and sicked people with new tunes well dats when my road to success started.
Started playing in big clubs in the city centre,clubs like Jobs,Turtles,Achipelago,Tube. Thats when i met Djs Like Brian King,Jackie B,Goddy Banton,King Alfred and more used to be a lot of fun when we would travel to places like MARONDERA,CHEGUTU,BINDURA,KADOMA to name a few.Sound was known nationally as was big for real.
Thats when i got involved in my stand alone shows i used to host locally in places like KENZIM,MAGAMBA HALL and more. Got involved in clubs like Channel'O' ,the Maze,Achipelago and mo ,well i worked with a crew i formed with my friends (DEXXUS,CRISSAZ,ISHAZ) which was called the BRUCK HOUSE CREW and that's still stand as our record label.
In the UK I have been up and about promoting my name and my crew.Played in clubs like (LONDON)
CLUB19 ,PLAYAZ ,SILVERSPOON ,BALLERZ(MIDDLESBROUGH) SANCTUARY, FLAVA ,PACIFIC ...Dancehall is nice and different in the UK as the competition is big you need to be the best.Ragga Ras and I has been involved in sessions with big names in the bizz like TONI MATTERHORN,MIGHTY CROWN,BASS ODDESSY and mo and also artists like VOICEMAIL,BUSY SIGNAL & LEXXUS(the prince).
I have toured a few countries in Europe and Africa setting the dancefloors alive. South Africa, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Egypt and Holland , the journey is still on since I have been rated one of the most hard working dj in the UK.
